smorgasbord

Forget good marks on a test.
Forget the time you received your first paycheck.
Forget the first time you got kissed.
Forget the first time you got laid.

None of that matters.

Because what I saw today takes the whole cake. And when I say the whole cake, I mean the WHOLE cake plus the cherry on top.

In the space of less than 10 minutes, I saw a Bentley Continental GT, the old AND new Audi TT and a Ferrari 360 Modena F1. I saw another car too but I'm kicking myself for forgetting what it was. No matter.

Oh and in addition I saw a yellow Lamborghini Gallardo and a Maserati 3200GT yesterday.

I think God must be smiling upon me.

The Bentley impressed me the most. I was sitting at the bus-stop waiting when in a flash, I caught a transient glimpse of that all too-familiar baby blue color scheme that practically defines the Continental GT. It was a pity that I only saw its side and rear end. But it wasn't the sight that took my breath away, literally. It was the engine. Even from 50m away I could hear the sonorous burble of the 6.0L, 552bhp, 479-lb-ft, turbocharged DOHC 48-valve W-12 engine. It was a raw, deep, stirring, violent sound - and very, very W-12. No other engine in the world can even begin to compete with that handbuilt motor. That sound and that engine is the absolute pinnacle of luxury vehicle engineering. Just listening to it could bring a smile to your lips and make you just want to run over and feel that car, damn the traffic. Man, I could go on and on about it, but it wouldn't be fair to the other cars I've seen too. They are all marvels of design and engineering as well.

Changing gears, I've to say that this coming February 14th is finally a significant day for me. Well, at least I bought the flowers in advance to avoid all those last minute rocketship-pricing strategies those silly florists do to rape your pocket of every last cent. It's absolute idiocy and insanity. Those prices are astronomical. Indescribably exorbitant. But I guess it's a small price to pay if you're celebrating V-day with someone special. And this is my first V-day too. Not sure how I'm going to handle it. Guys and gals: if you wanna show off your dating skills, now's the time to share them.

PEEE paper was a smooth-sailing affair yesterday. I managed to answer 95% of the questions, with the other 5% being left to chance. No I'm kidding. I managed to answer them all but I don't think that A is going to come my way anytime soon. I guess I was pretty lucky to have Eunice by my side. Her encouragement showed me the way even if my notes all suddenly didn't make any sense. I'm sincerely thankful to her for that. And too, for going Dutch this V-day :), because we both know I haven't enough money to feed a hamster, let alone both of us. Thanks :).

Well, there's still DE and Math paper left to tackle, on the 5th and 9th respectively. I'll need all the luck I can get now. I'll see you guys around.
