What the fuck

I got 12 points!!!

Haha I was damn happy ok. The whole day before and during the hours before I was so damn nervous I didn't even print anything properly. I think I wasted a cartonload of paper doing everything wrong.

It wasn't what I expected man, but wtf! 12 points! I was hoping to get at least a 15, but now. It's super heartening la. Both English and Combined Science got A2s, while History and Mathematics both got B3. B4 for Combined Humanities, and a piddly C6 for, yeah, Chinese. The only expected grade was my Add Maths, which scored an all-time high of E8. High as in the number. Was pleasantly surprised that I didn't get an F9, because throughout the whole damn paper I wasn't even doing the questions. I left out those that I immediately didn't know how to do, and left those that I wasn't sure how to continue halfway done, which was about the entire damn paper. Maybe the marker was having a nice day and decided to cut me some slack.

Going to choose the poly route. All the JCs can go fly kite. Sorry man, but poly really is the route I would love to take. I'm simply not the kind of person who wants to go to JC. Hoping to sign on to aeronautical engineering or aero electronics, both equally interesting and lucrative. Man I sure hope I can do it.

Cheers all of you. God Bless, and Good Luck

Ain't gonna apologise for the previous entry. No siree. It's the internet.

Everybody's so hyped up about feb 14. It's like, going to be hell every corner I turn. Couples kissing, smooching, hugging, touching, rubbing (any more -ings?). Gna be like Paradise Island these few weeks man. Don't go on the trains too. You might get hit in the face by a swinging butt (or tit). Take the cabs. At least you know the tired uncle up front won't turn around and present you with a bouquet.

Gna start organ lessons. Worse, it's one-on-one. Which means I'm the only one facing the teacher. Which means that if I screw up and forget to practice the week before, my teacher ain't gonna be no teacher: it gonna be the devil. Shit.

Had an absolutely wonderful day at the bookshop today doing absolutely nothing. Of course, the usual orders came and went, kids came and went, etc, but damn was it boring. One very interesting thing I have now come to accept. Every time the primary kids coming roaring in, the entire crowd of them will somehow turn into nephews of mine and start addressing me as uncle. Right. Uncle. Automatically thinking that any woman working in the bookshop is 'auntie' and any guy 'uncle'. Those adoring little bastards. And my darling Xerox is getting dusty. She's all alone, with no one to keep her company. Such beauty and brains deserves to be rewarded. Just look at the amount of material she pumps out a minute. One could almost hear her. Ooh.

Heard that Lao Du and Lao Cai are quitting. to be honest they're both good teachers, patient and able to relate to students well. I'm going to miss Mr Toh, he's been a great teacher all this while. Every class that he has taught has spoken about him in glowing terms. Unfortunately, his stand among the staff has been marred partly because he's TT Durai's (read Hak Boon) right-hand man. Weathering the criticism around him and still producing the goods is a real testament to his teaching abilities. Well done, Mr Toh. We'll miss you. As for Chua Sok Ling, I can't leave her out too. Although I really hated her guts in the beginning of last year and throughout, only towards the end did I realise what a teacher she was. Dedicated to her work, quick in her thinking, professional in her teaching, she has poked, prodded, yelled and traumatised our class to a point that we actually delivered. Not counting my Chinese, which jumped (yes jumped) from fail to a C6 at Os, she has helped others score. A deeply respectable person.

I guess it's funny. We only miss others when they are gone. But yeah, they're gone now. So moral of the story is: miss people even before they're gone. That'll make you appreciate that fella a whole lot more.
